The board of directors of the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (Pama) is moving ahead with a strategic plan following Pama’s separation from the SAE on June 1. The first step was hiring Potomac Management Resources to manage day-to-day operations. Three primary staffers at the Pama offices in Alexandria, Va., are Davin Hattaway, account director, with responsibility for all administrative functions, including working with the board on strategic, membership and communications plans; Janet Boutilier, account coordinator, responsible for customer service; and Michelle Adams, event director, in charge of Pama’s Aviation Maintenance and Management Symposium, which will be held twice a year. Pama’s first symposium is scheduled for early next year. Pama president John Casker and board chairman Clark Gordon noted that the association’s mission remains the same: “Enhancing the professionalism and recognition of the aviation maintenance technician through communication, education, representation and support–for continuous improvement in aviation safety.” This year, the Pama board plans to review and update the strategic plan, reach out to members and other interested parties using social media such as LinkedIn and Facebook and conduct a membership survey.
