ASI Group told AIN at the NBAA Convention yesterday that it recently has seen a 25-percent increase in customers’ international business jet operations. “The past 90 days have been the most active in terms of international flights that we’ve seen this year,” ASI Group president Charlie LeBlanc said. “Two of the hottest areas for increased activities are Asia and South America.” LeBlanc attributed the uptick in activity to the improving business climate in these and other regions around the world, as well as the fact that U.S.-based businesses want to take advantage of emerging opportunities. He also said that companies traveling internationally are making security planning a major part of the process and that ASI Group is always monitoring the world’s “hot spots” to provide advanced alerts and warnings to international travelers. LeBlanc said that while the current security climate in most parts of the world warrants caution, the company is strongly advising clients against any travel to Pakistan. “With the ongoing violence, we just don’t know what’s happening there,” he said.
