Comlux Dissolves Partnership with Airbus

The Comlux Group, which became a 40-percent shareholder in the Airbus Corporate Jet Center (ACJC) in May last year, has withdrawn from the partnership by mutual agreement to focus on its new completion and maintenance facilities in Indianapolis. The center–formerly Indianapolis Jet Center–includes Comlux America, which focuses on Airbus VIP completions, and Comlux Aviation Services, which occupies itself with Bombardier completion work, maintenance and other services. The Comlux Group parent company, The Aviation Group of Zurich, Switzerland, bought the Indianapolis facility in November last year and has since started to expand and upgrade it. This most recent decision, said Comlux president and CEO Richard Gaona, is part of a long-term strategy to make its Indianapolis complex a major force in the aircraft completion, refurbishment and maintenance industry. The dissolution of the Airbus partnership, finalized shortly after the Dubai Airshow a month ago, included return of Comlux’s original investment in ACJC. Gaona emphasized that the relationship with Airbus remains cordial. Comlux’s Indianapolis complex expects to begin work on a green Bombardier Challenger 850 next month and will take in its first Airbus, a green A320, in February.
