Pilatus today reported that 2009 was a record-breaking year for PC-12 deliveries, bucking the downward trend seen at most business aircraft manufacturers. The Swiss company delivered 100 PC-12 NG turboprop singles last year, surpassing delivery totals for any production year since the first PC-12 was shipped in 1994. “Achieving 100 deliveries in a single year is a significant milestone for Pilatus and the PC-12 NG production program and reason to celebrate,” said Ignaz Gretener, vice president of general aviation at Pilatus Aircraft. “This would be true in any year, but the fact we did it last year is simply outstanding.” Pilatus has conservatively increased production over the years, delivering 90, 92 and 97 of the type in 2006, 2007 and 2008, respectively. Meanwhile, competitor Daher-Socata yesterday announced that it delivered 36 TBM 850 turboprop singles last year, down from the 60 it handed over to customers in 2008. Still, the overall in-service TBM fleet stands at a substantial 507 aircraft, according to the French aircraft manufacturer.
