Constant Aviation, a maintenance, repair and overhaul facility headquartered at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, is offering a supplemental type certificate (STC) for the Aircell high-speed Internet with Wi-Fi system for the Gulfstream IV. "The addition of Wi-Fi to corporate aircraft has been on the rise as an increasing number of passengers want access to the Internet and e-mail in flight," said company president Stephen Maiden. "We're also in the process of completing an STC for installation of the Aircell high-speed Internet system with Wi-Fi in the Embraer Legacy, Citation X, Beechjet and Phenom 300," he said. The Aircell Axxess system, along with the ATG 4000 high-speed Internet option, provides worldwide Iridium voice telephone service and broadband data in the continental U.S. According to Maiden, the 11-pound system operates up to up to 56 times faster than a traditional dial-up connection and provides a high-speed Internet experience that equals what passengers are accustomed to on the ground.
