Raisbeck Engineering of Seattle, Wash., today named Mike McConnell president. James Raisbeck, the company’s founder, remains as chairman and CEO. Immediately before joining Raisbeck, McConnell spent seven years with Eclipse Aviation, where he was president and general manager of the company’s customer division. Before joining Eclipse, he was the senior vice president of strategic planning for Mooney Aircraft, where he was responsible for worldwide marketing, sales and product support activities. “Mike has broad-based experience in product development, innovative marketing and building solid relationships with customers,” James Raisbeck said. “We’re looking forward to continued growth under Mike’s leadership with emphasis on our relationships with customers, dealers and OEMs.” In an exclusive interview with AIN, McConnell said, “The traditional path for Raisbeck Engineering has been [establishing] relationships with owner-operators, commonly with King Airs. A second business path for the company has been [building] relationships with OEMs, such as Hawker, Learjet and Boeing. We’re going to study the market to see what potential growth areas may exist. We are not looking for hyper growth by any means, but the company has steadily been growing and we’d like to expand upon it. For instance, currently about half of all King Airs have at least one Raisbeck product. I see that as an opportunity to reach out to the other half.”
