NBAA and the Shanghai Airport Authority (SAA) finalized a five-year agreement yesterday that guarantees the Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (Abace) will be held at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport. The deal initially was struck between the parties at EBACE last month in Geneva. The last Abace was held three years ago in Hong Kong, and since then numerous Asian cities and countries have vied to host the next conference, according to NBAA. “Shanghai is a key business aviation hub for China, serving multiple national and international industries,” said SAA chairman Nianzu Wu. “By partnering with NBAA, we are bringing the premier aviation show to China. We see ABACE as a key component in our future plans to build a conference center, attract more traffic to Shanghai and meet the aviation and business needs of Asia’s busy executives.” China is projected to need approximately 10,000 to 12,000 GA aircraft in the coming years, according to state civil aviation authorities. “Combining these developments with the country's status as the world's second largest economy and the outcome is a business aviation market primed to take off,” said NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen. Abace 2012 will be held February to March 27 to 29 {{???PLS FIX}}, and Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre will host the static display.
