Embraer has named Constant Aviation’s Birmingham, Ala. facility an authorized service center for the Phenom 100 and 300. The facility will be allowed to provide complete maintenance and avionics services as well as modifications, composite repairs and work required by Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins on the Phenom series. The Cleveland facility, named a Phenom ASC about two months ago, has had a long-standing relationship with Embraer dating back to 1996 as a Legacy 600/650 authorized service center. “We have relocated technicians from Cleveland to the Birmingham facility to support the Embraer product lines,” Stephen Maiden, president, told AIN. “The planning and coordination has allowed us to prepare for this authorization and be able to serve the Phenom market immediately.” The company invested approximately $200,000 in tooling, infrastructure and training. Kevin Dillon, vice president, said, “One goal of the company is to provide consistency with the airframes we service across our network of service centers. This is just one more step toward that goal.” The MRO is also in the final stages of its GoGo Biz Wi-Fi system STC on the Phenom 300. The system allows passengers to stay connected to the Internet while in flight.
