Gama Support Services is expanding its U.S.-based MRO business to include corporate aircraft maintenance and support. It has been building its Bridgeport, Conn.; Teterboro, N.J.; and West Palm Beach, Fla. infrastructure since 2009 toward that goal. Tom Connelly, Gama’s president, told AIN the company maintains its own U.S.-based fleet of 40 managed aircraft under Part 135 and added Part 145 to take in outside business. Each of the repair stations has authorizations to perform base and line maintenance on most models of Gulfstream, Falcon, Bombardier, Cessna and Hawker and their respective engines.
“We have just recently acquired EASA approval for all three locations and are now in a position to offer our services to U.S. and European aircraft at our Florida location. In addition, we have added altimeter and transponder certification approval,” said Connelly. He added that Gama is simultaneously working on boosting the capacity of the other two facilities but is focusing initially on the 28,000-sq-ft West Palm Beach facility because there’s sufficient demand. “We’ve added six new technicians to accommodate the increased work,” he said.
Headquartered at Farnborough Airport in the UK, Gama Group operates aircraft from more than 30 bases worldwide.
