Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hawker Pacific to discuss the framework for Hawker Pacific to become the first FBO in the region to provide repair services for P&WC’s engine diagnostics, prognostics and health management (DPHM) products.
Hawker Pacific is an Australian FBO that provides aircraft sales and product support in the Asia-Pacific region. The repair station, set to be operational by year-end, will be located at Hawker Pacific’s MRO facility in Cairns, Australia, and is expected to offer repair services to a wide range of DPHM products such as the aircraft data acquisition system and the flight data acquisition storage and transmission system. Providing in-region repair capabilities will enable aircraft operators to have their DPHM products repaired locally during scheduled aircraft maintenance.
P&WC’s DPHM systems provide aircraft operators with key engine and aircraft data for engine condition trend monitoring and operational analysis. Such data assists aircraft operators in making informed decisions about preventive maintenance to reduce unscheduled inspections, lower operating costs and increase aircraft availability.
