In a string of promotions announced yesterday at Bombardier but not effective until January 1, Eric Martel will be president of Bombardier Business Aircraft, succeeding Steve Ridolfi, who will be senior vice president of strategy and mergers and acquisitions at Bombardier Inc. Meanwhile, Michel Ouellette will take over Martel’s current position–president of Bombardier customer services and specialized and amphibious aircraft–also at the turn of the new year.
“We are fortunate to have a solid succession plan in place with a resource of accomplished leaders who are ready to take on the challenges ahead,” said Bombardier Aerospace president and COO Guy Hachey. “Over the course of Eric’s tenure at Bombardier, he has held numerous positions with increasing responsibilities. [He] comes to this new position with a proven and successful track record.”
Ouellette, a 20-year veteran at the company, has held a number of senior positions at Bombardier within engineering, commercial aircraft and business aircraft, most recently as vice president and general manager for the Global aircraft programs.
“These appointments come at a critical time for Bombardier Aerospace as we make major investments in product development and continue to expand our services footprint internationally,” said Hachey.
