Okayama Air Services Named TBM Service Center

Daher-Socata appointed Okayama Air Service (OAS) a TBM service center in Japan. OAS was founded in 1988 for the maintenance of business aircraft in Japan. Today, the company offers charters, maintenance, hangar storage, fleet management and interior completion at Chuba, Haneda, Kohnan and Okayama airports.

The company has a long history with the turboprop single, beginning with operating and maintaining a TBM 700 based in Japan. Following its appointment as a TBM service center, OAS is taking the relationship with the OEM a step further. “Japan’s specific general aviation environment includes stringent operating constraints, which explains why the market has been quiet for many years,” explained Nicolas Chabbert, senior vice president of Daher-Socata’s airplane business.

“As the business aviation market in Japan is showing new signs of strength, and because the TBM 700 and TBM 850 have proved they are well suited to Japan’s specific general aviation environment, our partnership with Okayama Air Service will be instrumental in selling TBMs in Japan,” he added.
