Air Data’s JetAir bio-protection air purification system has received Transport Canada manufacturing approval. The Montreal-based company expects supplemental type certification early this summer for Bombardier’s Global Express XRS and Global 5000. U.S. independent completion and refurbishment specialist Midcoast is offering the system as an option to operators of both Global variants.

Driessen Aerospace has introduced a new “hot cup” designed originally for the Boeing 787 galley. The cup brings about three pints of water to a boil in five to seven minutes, using induction technology. The Netherlands-based galley equipment specialist suggests using the boiler for everything from simple hot water to boiling eggs to heating baby food. The pot itself can be removed and carried throughout the aircraft for service.
Fort Lauderdale-based Banyan Air Service has expanded its refurbishment service into larger aircraft and recently completed installation of an Audio International in-flight entertainment system in a Gulfstream IV-SP and a Collins Tailwind 550 multi-region satellite-direct television and high-speed Internet package with cabin wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi) in a privately owned Boeing 747SP.
From Italian cabin supplier Iacobucci HF Electronics comes a new galley espresso maker. At 6.3 inches wide, 12 inches high, 10.8 inches deep and 26.45 pounds, the machine is sized for the small galley. The hot water system isn’t pressurized and it includes over-temperature and low-water automatic shutdown, and non-scorching steam outlet.

AgustaWestland has delivered the first two of its helicopters fitted with interiors styled by Italian fashion design house Versace. One aircraft, ordered by Romania-based loan company Tiriac Air, is a Grand light twin featuring a black-and-white interior and paint scheme. The second one, an AW109 Power, has a gray interior and was ordered by Italy’s Elimarca. AgustaWestland and Versace are working on an interior for the AW139.
