Africa is not the easiest part of the world in which to conduct executive aviation services, which is why Landover Aviation Services was established 14 years ago to foreign operators penetrate the complex bureaucracy in the region. Since then the company has become the leading source of assistance not only in Nigeria–where it is based in Lagos, but also in many other parts of Africa.

Indeed, Kunle Olaleye, the company’s general manager, told EBACE Convention News that many U.S.- and European-based flight-planning organizations channel work to Landover when landing or overflight clearances are needed. With its extensive network of offices and representatives in many other African countries, Landover can normally provide clients with clearances within 24 hours.

But Landover also maintains coordination centers in Europe and Canada to ensure that customer demands can be met at short notice. Organizing aircraft and passenger handling including the provision of catering, ground transportation, aviation fuel and aircraft security, Landover can also expedite medical evacuation by obtaining permits within 30 minutes of receiving a request.

Overland Airways, Landover’s sister company, operates a fleet of three Raytheon Beech 1900 twin turboprops and a single ATR 42 on scheduled and charter flights throughout Nigeria.

Landover is exhibiting at EBACE for the fourth time and has no doubt that this has helped it to achieve 20-percent annual growth in business over the past five years. As Nigeria is the world’s seventh largest oil producer and the eighth largest exporter, the country is set to remain an important market that will continue to attract growing business aviation.
