Jet Aviation’s Zurich maintenance center has installed a precision area navigation system (P-Rnav) in a Cessna Citation III, a first for the model. P-Rnav equipment provides the improved track-keeping accuracy that is required in some European terminal airspace.

The 22-year-old business jet’s cockpit also received a new Honeywell weather radar, cockpit voice recorder, enhanced ground proximity warning system and runway awareness and advisory system. The avionics retrofits, completed to the latest standards of the European Aviation Safety Agency, were made while the airplane underwent a cabin makeover that included a new seating configuration and soundproofing upgrade.

Jet Aviation also announced that its aircraft management division has been certified as a continuous airworthiness management organization (CAMO) for the Cayman Islands and is in the process of obtaining CAMO certification for Bermuda. CAMO approval, first adopted in Europe as a way of ensuring scheduled maintenance is performed as required, will become mandatory in the Cayman Islands and Bermuda next year.
