BBA Aviation Companies Gear Up For Maintenance On More Engine Types
H+S Aviation and Dallas Airmotive, both BBA Aviation companies (Booth 4246), have received the first RR300 engines under their recently awarded authorized maintenance repair and overhaul center agreement with Rolls-Royce. “The recent EASA certification of the [Robinson Helicopter] R66 will undoubtedly drive growth in Europe and we have responded by ramping up our support capabilities,” said Mark Taylor, managing director of H+S Aviation, also referring to BBA’s expertise with the Rolls-Royce M250.
From Pratt & Whitney Canada, Dallas Airmotive and H+S Aviation have received designated overhaul facility (DOF) appointments for the repair and overhaul of several turboshaft models. Dallas Airmotive received the North American DOF appointment supporting the PW200 and PW210. H+S Aviation received the Middle East DOF appointment for the PW200, PW210, PT6C and PT6T.
The companies will build facilities to support the new appointments. North American rotorcraft support will be based at Dallas Airmotive’s recently announced facility at Dallas Fort-Worth airport. The Dallas location will spread over 30,000 sq ft and include three turboshaft and three turbofan engine test cells.
The location of the Middle East facility will be finalized later this year. It will be developed and supported by the company’s Portsmouth, UK location. Both facilities are currently scheduled to provide repair and overhaul services by the end of this year with full test capabilities available in the first half of 2015.
