Fairs & Exhibitions is describing the biennial Dubai Air show, which celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2007, as “The world’s third largest aerospace exhibition.”
The 2009 show will have a new venue– “Aviation City” at Dubai World Central,  the UAE’s new six-runway mega-airport in Jebel Ali.

“The new venue will allow us to significantly expand the facilities available to exhibitors and visitors,” said Alison Weller, director of show organizer F&E Aerospace. That organization is also organizing the Middle East Business Aviation (MEBA) event in Dubai this November.

The new airshow site will be twice the size of the previous one at Airport Expo Dubai. F&E Aerospace has expanded the chalet line for 2009 to 140, more than 50 percent of which have already been booked.

“The Dubai Airshow is no longer a regional show but a world-class, internationally recognized aviation forum,” said Weller.
Beginning in 2012 the new site will also be linked to the Dubai Metro system, which is currently under construction.

The Dubai Airshow is strongly supported by UAE vice president and ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of the Department of Civil Aviation, who is “taking a keen personal interest in its development,” said the organizer.
