Jet Aviation is now offering clients at its Geneva and Zurich FBOs in Switzerland free, same-day, locally printed issues of more than 180 newspapers from around the world. Among the newspapers available are The Wall Street Journal, The Times of London, The Washington Post, El Pais, La Repubblica, The New York Times, Le Figaro, Sydney Morning Herald, Folha De São Paulo, Neue Zuricher Zeitung, Yomiuri Shimbun and Asharq Al-Awsat.

The warm breeze drifting across Singapore Seletar Airport brings a welcome respite from the midday heat in this island nation near the earth’s equator. At Jet Aviation Singapore, v-p and general manager Geoffrey Hopkins is anticipating a breeze of a different kind–a wind of economic recovery brought on by growing prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region.
“You have to work at it every day. The changes don’t come in waves, but in tiny increments,” Philippe Crevier said about the FBO business. He spoke to AIN on his cellphone from his family’s vacation house.
Swift Aviation at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport moved into its new facility on the airport’s southwest side last month and is currently providing a full range of FBO services. The 21-acre complex features a 31,500-sq-ft canopy, with a roof high enough to fully shelter a Global Express. Three adjoining hangar buildings have a total of 83,320 sq ft for aircraft storage and 13,260 sq ft of office space.
The state of Louisiana has approved Million Air’s plans to build a new FBO terminal at Lakefront Airport in New Orleans. The airport suffered debilitating damage during Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and Million Air lost most of its buildings except for the historic 1930s-era Moffett Hangar, which has since been restored. Groundbreaking should take place this month.

Early this year the TIX Jet Center opened at Space Coast Regional Airport (TIX) in Titusville, Fla. A new terminal building is slated for construction beginning this spring, with TIX Jet Center to administer the municipally owned facility. TIX Jet Center’s current operation features a pilot lounge, weather-briefing area, catering, rental cars and shuttle service.
Trajen Flight Support at Tucson International Airport (TUS), Ariz., became an Air BP dealer last October, and this month it plans to complete a major expansion project. The new terminal/hangar complex will add a total of some 12,000 sq ft to the FBO.
Lowe Aviation, a Phillips 66 Aviation Performance Center at Middle Georgia Regional Airport (MCN), Macon, Ga., is the hometown fueler for medium-size international charter operator Aviance. George Moore, owner of Aviance, operates five Learjets. He started in 1988 with one leased aircraft, adding to the fleet as business demanded.
