Max-Viz, the Portland, Ore. manufacturer of infrared enhanced vision systems (EVS), is at Heli-Expo 2006 with a recent order for its EVS-1000 system to equip the Canadian Helicopters fleet.

Canadian Helicopters operates a variety of rotorcraft throughout Canada in EMS, public service and utility roles. Sylvain Seguin, the firm’s v-p for safety, said the operator evaluated the EVS-1000 system for 90 days on a variety of day and night missions in reduced visibility. “I was most impressed with the increased situational awareness that the EVS-1000 provides,” he said.

Max-Vix, at Booth No. 1577, offers systems with both single and dual uncooled IR sensors and eye-level cockpit displays to provide NVG-compatible real-time imagery of terrain, runways, taxiways and energized powerlines through dust, haze, smoke and light precipitation.
