Goodrich Corp. of Charlotte, N.C., announced yesterday that it has developed DC starter-generator brushes to extend the time between overhaul required on a helicopter’s starter or generator. According to aftermarket development manager John Lawlor, “Our product now has the potential to extend the time between overhaul of a helicopter’s starter-generator to allow a 1,000-hour no-touch in-service life guaranteed.” The new technology, called Diamond Range, is available for the Bell 206, 406, 212 and 412; Sikorsky S-76; and Eurocopter EC 135 and EC 145. Goodrich staff is available to discuss the technology at Booth No. 3427.
