PHI has already logged 23,000 hours on its fleet of nine Sikorsky S-92s, and on Monday at Heli-Expo it signed an options contract for six more of the model to be delivered in 2009 and 2010, as well as six copies of the S-76C++ to support deepwater oil industry missions in the Gulf of Mexico. Sikorsky’s Stephen Estill, v-p and chief marketing officer, called the signing ceremony “a very special day” for Sikor-sky and PHI, which have a relationship spanning more than 50 years and 50 Sikor-sky helicopters, including the S-76A++, S-76C+ and S-76C++. Lafayette, La.-based PHI accepted the first two production models of the S-92 in late 2004.
