FlightSafety International (Booth No. 834) is providing simulator training for Sikorsky helicopter pilots at its learning center in Lafayette, La. The 70,000-sq-ft center features a level-D Sikorsky S-76C+/C++ simulator and is equipped to accommodate up to eight simulators in total.

It also contains classroom and customer service space and will eventually host FlightSafety’s advanced technology flight training devices for a variety of aircraft types. The level-7 FTDs “more closely resemble a full-flight simulator…than earlier generation FTDs,” said George Ferito, FlightSafety’s director of rotorcraft business development.
The Lafayette center also provides mission-specific training for offshore oil rig operations, EMS, news gathering and law enforcement. FlightSafety offers simulator-based training in Fort Worth, Texas; West Palm Beach, Fla.; and Farnborough, UK.
