Bell 206L skid tubes save 20 pounds

While a 20-pound weight saving may not seem like much, every pilot knows even a small reduction in aircraft weight can make a difference in performance. Aeronautical Accessories (Booth No. 3975) received a supplemental type certificate in December for reduced-weight skid tubes for the Bell 206L, which are 20 pounds lighter than the existing skid tubes designed for the high cross-tube configuration. The Bell Helicopter affiliate, located in Bristol, Tenn., also announced here at Heli-Expo that it received dual AS9100/ISO 9001:2000 quality system certification in October last year.
