Swiss interiors designer Aerolite has delivered a fourth AW139 EMS helicopter to Norwegian air ambulance operator Lufttransport. The interior includes a stretcher for single- and dual-patient configuration and four “ergonomically placed” swiveling and tracking seats. If necessary, the operator can change the configuration to a 12-seat utility design.

The cabin ceiling has integrated patient lights, loading lights, attendant lights and overhead rails for medical equipment, IV hooks and radio provisions. Two sidewall flat racks with quick-release retainers can store a “multitude of medical equipment.” A wall separates the cockpit and the cabin, and the loading platform “guarantees easy and stress-free loading and unloading of stretchers and isolettes,” according to Aerolite.

“The modern medical interior from Aerolite represents a major improvement for our air ambulance service,” said Frank Wilhelmsen, vice president and director of the air ambulance division of Lufttransport.

Aerolite received the first STC for an AW139 EMS interior in 2005. The interiors are installed in helicopters operating in Asia, Australia and other Eastern countries. n
