GKN Aerospace is showcasing emergency flotation and fuel system technologies here at its Heli-Expo booth (No. N2608).

On display are fuel systems supplied for a number of rotary-wing aircraft and land vehicles, alongside the latest repair developments. GKN manufactures the fuel and flotation systems in both the U.S. and the UK and supplies turnkey service, from fuel storage to engine feed systems, as well as flexible fuel bladders, crashworthy and self-sealing systems, rotationally molded tanks and range-extender tanks. Also incorporated in fuel tanks are explosive suppressant and anti-slosh technology, where required. For the military market GKN manufactures self-sealing fuel systems, providing protection from 7.62-mm to 20-mm rounds.

Emergency flotation systems for the Bell 212 and Sikorsky S-70 are also on display at the GKN booth. The company claims to be an authority on the specification, design, manufacture and qualification of complete emergency flotation systems, designed to satisfy the requirements of FAR/JAR Parts 27 and 29.

GKN provides maintenance support for its proprietary and customer products, as well as to the broader market.
