An upcoming airshow focusing exclusively on law enforcement and military rotorcraft will carry special meaning for several members of the United States armed forces, and not only due to the swell of emotions that events like these tend to bring about. A special naturalization ceremony for non-citizen members of the military will take place during the American Heroes Air Show, on the first day of the Texas Military Forces Open House at Camp Mabry in Austin, Texas, scheduled for April 20-21.

“We’re proud to have the American Veterans Traveling Tribute’s inspiring Cost of Freedom Tribute as well as U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services partner with us to create this very special element of [the show],” said Austin Police Department corporal Wut Tantaksinanukij, the volunteer event director for the show. “It’s our privilege to provide Austin families with a clear view of the best of America when these candidates for citizenship take center stage, recite their Oath of Allegiance and become America’s newest citizens.”

Now in its fifth year, the American Heroes Air Show is a series of annual, admission-free airshows held across the U.S. by the American Heroes Aviation Network, an umbrella nonprofit organization highlighting the unique capabilities of helicopters in law enforcement, fire services, EMS, homeland defense and national security.

The Austin event will also include the CODE3 Career Fair, featuring recruitment teams from law enforcement, public safety and government and military services.
