AeroComputers Partners with Aeromot for 2014 FIFA World Cup Security
Oxnard, Calif.-based AeroComputers (Booth No. 4813) took advantage of Heli-Expo 2014 to highlight the work it is doing with Aeromot Aeronaves e Motores to coordinate a 12-state, 36-helicopter mission to provide airborne security for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, to be held this summer in Brazil.
Logistics are complex, but they are nothing that AeroComputer’s digital mapping systems, including the UC-5100, with integrated FLIR Star Safire 380HD camera and special-mission components, can’t handle. The system includes precision GPS-based moving maps, EO/IR sensor command, video processing and mission telemetry collection and transmission. The equipment is designed to be moved quickly between any of the 36 security helicopters to minimize dependency on any single helicopter for the mission.
The Aeromot engineering team helped integrate the digital mapping system into each equipment setup package, while AeroComputer’s representative, Ryan Trigg, head of in-field operations, traveled to all 12 Brazilian states to tweak each configuration and facilitate software modifications for local database needs.
