ICG’s Aerocom telephone system can do it all
International Communications Group (Booth No. 1447) is making it easier to reach out and touch someone. The Newport News, Va. company says its latest system, the AeroCom 1100 cabin telecommunications unit (CTU), provides an automated, integrated package that supports telephone, fax and data services for small to medium-sized business jets.
“We call it executive in a box,” said spokeswoman Sandy Hickey. It is designed, she said, to replicate the convenience of a contemporary executive office communications suite and supports up to eight separate extensions in the cabin. It provides a full range of switched telephone services, such as call hold, call transfer, intercom, conferencing and voice prompts. Familiar telephone audio tones are used for busy signal, ringing and dial tone. Voice prompts and status messages can be recorded in any language.
Communication circuit selection and transfer control is fully automatic and transparent to the caller. It is compatible with a range of air-to-ground communications links, including Iridium, Inmarsat and HF radio. Open-ended architecture ensures compatibility with emerging communication services as they come online, without adding new external interface devices, the company said.
According to Hickey, the company is also showing its new ICS (Iridium communication system) models 120 and 220, which are scheduled to be available next month and are fully compatible with Acars (aircraft communication addressing and reporting system). The systems cost $23,000 and $29,000, respectively.
Also on display at the show and available later this year is ICG’s new ICS-400 satellite communications system, priced at around $40,000.
