Garmin reveals incentives for G1000 avionics suite
Garmin International opened NBAA’08 by announcing a pair of offers to purchasers and operators of its G1000 integrated flight deck that include price breaks on popular options and an extended warranty on the system itself.
The King Air Platinum Package for C90, 200 and B200 owners who order G1000 retrofits before November 30 will offer “substantial savings on the most popular options,” which include synthetic vision, the Garmin Chartview that displays Jeppesen charts and GRC/GRT XM Radio remote control.
At the same time, Garmin unveiled extended G1000 warranty coverage through its FliteLevel program, which offers complete systemwide maintenance protection beyond the standard two-year factory warranty. It covers “everything from cockpit displays to remote LRUs,” to provide comprehensive protection against unexpected product failures, Garmin said. A choice of fixed-price coverage plans allows owners to select one that best serves their needs and budgets. Options include local shop labor and replacement coverage, or LRU exchanges and flat-rate factory repair only.
Another FliteLevel option is Garmin’s LRU exchange to ensure quick replacement of failed units.
Garmin’s FliteLevel service is fully transferable if the aircraft is sold during the warranty period.
The King Air Platinum Package covers the first set of aircraft to become eligible for a G1000 panel retrofit. Its basic configuration includes a 15-inch multifunction display and two 10.4-inch primary flight displays along with the GFC 700 three-axis digital autopilot.
