Sikorsky Aircraft has selected TrueNorth Avionics’ Simphone airborne telephone systems as OEM standard options on new S-76 series and S-92 helicopters. TrueNorth, exhibiting at Booth No. 1671, provides airmobile Iridium and Inmarsat voice, fax and data equipment for general aviation users.

The TrueNorth Simphone Chorus airborne telecom system provides two-channel Iridium service plus Inmarsat Swift64, with full capability to access SwiftBroadband when Inmarsat makes that service fully operational in mid-2009 after final repositioning of the I-4 geosynchronous satellites.

The Ottawa, Canada company is offering its dual-channel Iridium-only Simphon¯e Prelude radiotelephone for light jets and turboprops at an introductory price of $24,900 effective through year-end. MSRP for the now-available Prelude is $29,950.
