Appareo Systems (Booth No. 351), a designer and manufacturer of lightweight flight data monitoring (FDM) systems, is exhibiting at the NBAA convention for the first time this year. The Fargo, N.D.-based company will highlight its Aircraft Logging and Event Recording for Training and Safety (Alerts) system, which includes flight-data capture hardware and a full suite of software analysis tools.

The company’s Vision 1000 Alerts system is a compact unit that weighs less than half a pound and is installed on the headliner of the aircraft. It captures inertial data, ambient and intercom audio and high-resolution cockpit imagery.

In addition to the Alerts system, Appareo Systems’s second-generation Stratus 2 will be available for demonstration at the NBAA show. Stratus turns an iPad into a useful in-flight tool, delivering subscription-free ADS-B IN weather and traffic, GPS position and attitude information from a wireless receiver that fits in a pocket.
