PPG (Hall 2b, C121) has donated its latest-technology Desothane HD coating for the restoration of the original Falcon jet, the Mystère 20. IT Mercure, a nonprofit French restoration team, restored the prototype of the Falcon line (serial number 1) and the aircraft is on display here at Le Bourget in front of the Advanced Air Support hangar, just outside the show static display area. “The painters applied it on a very tight schedule,” said Gilles Brousseau, PPG sales manager for southern Europe, “and said they especially appreciated the short cycle time allowed by this scheme with an astounding appearance and gloss for both solid and metallic colors. We wanted the Mystère 20 to look good today and for years to come.” After the show, the Mystère 20 will return to its permanent display at France’s premier national air and space museum, the Musee de l’Air et de l’Espace, right here at Le Bourget.
