The Gulfstream Elite interior concept debuted in the G650, found it is second application in the G450 and now has arrived, literally, in Las Vegas for NBAA 2013 in the G550. It is on display, inside N550GA, here at Henderson Airport during NBAA 2013. To date, Gulfstream has delivered some 30 Elite cabins.
At the entrance to the 2013 Latin American Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition at Congonhas Airport, ABAG–the Brazilian Association for General Aviation and the organizer of the annual event–reminded visitors that the 2014 LABACE is planned for August 13-15, also in Sao Paulo.
Aircraft manufacturers make a big deal about first appearances, or debuts, of their new aircraft at airshows and conventions. Of course, an aircraft can really make a debut only once–the very first time it appears in public. But we’re quibbiling. One can have several debuts at different places.
It’s winter in the Southern Hemisphere, so the days are now shorter and sunset comes earlier than north of the equator. So with the Latin American Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition staying open until 8 p.m., it’s obvious the event stays open after dark.
Among all the aviation events with “-BACE” in their acronyms (including the recently renamed NBAA Convention), this tenth edition of the Latin American Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (LABACE 2013) probably has the biggest diversity of airplanes with propellors than any other BACE event.
São Paulo, Brazil, is again hosting the static display for the Latin America Business Aviation Confernece and Exhibition (LABACE 2013) and helicopters are there in force. This should not be surprising given that travel to and from the continent’s vast interior that can be made quickly and conveniently only by air and helicopters can land and takeoff from almost anywhere.
According to the latest data from Brazilian industry group ABAG, jets are still in the minority in the country’s business aircraft fleet, with piston-powered equipment still firmly in the majority. But this is changing and jets are now the fastest-growing segment of Brazilian business aviation.
As preparations move into high gear for the 2013 edition of the Latin American Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (LABACE) the aircraft that will be on exhibit in the static display starting on August 14 have begun to arrive at São Paulo/Congonghas Airport in Brazil.
