In last Thursday’s issue of AINalerts, we inadvertently reported Avinode’s price index data instead of the demand index for the coming month. In fact, the demand index shows rising charter demand with the index for April 1 standing just over four points up on the March 1 index at 85.98. The April 1 demand index was also almost 14 points higher than where it had stood 12 months earlier when it reached 72.09 on that day in 2009.

U.S. judge Randall Dunn on Friday ruled that China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co. (CAIGAC) will be the winning bidder for the assets of bankrupt turboprop kit manufacturer Epic Air, but only if it licenses bidder LT Builders Group to manufacture Epics in Bend, Ore., according to a report in The Oregonian, which has been attending the Epic hearings.

Just shy of four years since voting in a union–the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 1108–the pilots at fractional provider Flight Options overwhelmingly approved their first contract last week. After more than three years of sometimes bitter negotiations, IBT 1108 reached a tentative agreement with Flight Options management on January 28.
In a new policy statement released on Friday, the FAA said that individuals being treated for “mild to moderate” depression with one of four antidepressant medications–specifically, Prozac, Zoloft, Celexa, Lexapro and their generic equivalents–can be considered for special issuance of a pilot medical certificate.
