Timco Aviation Services has announced that Timco Aerosystems’ interiors engineering and manufacturing division will be expanding its operations by adding a new facility in Wallburg, N.C. The company will invest $2.75 million and create about 275 new jobs over the next five years. The decision comes as the company continues to expand its business producing aircraft interior products.

MRO operator West Star Aviation has added a mobile support team (MST) at its facility on Dallas Love Field. According to Sam Haycraft, executive v-p of operations, all of the maintenance personnel at that facility are available to be deployed depending upon the type of aircraft. “We have a dedicated van that the team uses to transport the necessary parts for an assignment.

Smyrna Air Center has authorized Stevens Aviation to participate in the Power 90 upgrade program. Under the terms of the agreement Stevens Aviation is authorized to install the GE M601 engine on 90-series King Airs. Smyrna Air Center holds the rights to the Power 90 conversion STC.

Wichita-based Yingling Aviation has opened a maintenance and service facility on Independence Municipal Airport in Independence, Kan. The new 10,000-sq-ft hangar is adjacent to Cessna Aircraft’s manufacturing facility. Lynn Nichols, president and CEO, told AIN that the new Cessna-authorized service facility was jointly funded by the company and the City of Independence but declined to be specific about the cost of the project.

The FAA is proposing for the Cessna Citation X an Airworthiness Directive (AD) that would require an inspection to determine the serial numbers of the APU generator and the left and right engine direct-current generators. It would also require related corrective actions, if necessary, and a revision to the airplane flight manual.
