A group of Eclipse 500 owners and position holders for the Eclipse 400 and 500 this week formed an ad hoc customer committee to represent their interests during the Eclipse Aviation Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. David Green, also the president of the Eclipse 500 Owners Club, was selected to be the group’s chairman.

UBS Investment Research’s Business Jet Survey that was released today is a sobering account of the recession’s toll on the U.S. bizjet market. The firm’s “business jet market index” came in at 14 this month, slightly higher than last month’s all-time low of 13 but still well below 50, which is the dividing line between market growth (above 50) and contraction (below 50).
The Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) new rule that requires general aviation pilots to file passenger names and other information to government officials before crossing a U.S. border became effective today, though compliance isn’t required until six months from now.
