Dallas-based Gold Jets, which provides aircraft management and arranges charter flights via an online auction process, has purchased charter operator New World Jet of Ronkonkoma, N.Y. Kern Mattei transferred his 100-percent interest in New World Jet to Gold Jets in exchange for an ownership interest in the latter company.

Canada’s Transportation Safety Board has made recommendations in line with the growing concern from the FAA and NTSB about the safety of Cessna 208 Caravans in icing conditions.
Reporting today on its year-end results, Raytheon said that Raytheon Aircraft delivered 255 turbine business airplanes last year (141 jets and 114 King Airs) compared with 219 (115 jets and 104 King Airs) in 2004. This was an increase of 16.4 percent year over year, just short of Raytheon’s revised forecast of 267 turbine business airplanes.
Monday is the last day to submit comments on the FAA’s proposal to make permanent the temporary restrictions and the current air defense identification zone (ADIZ) in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The end of the comment period follows two public meetings last month attended by hundreds of business and general aviation pilots and their trade groups.
