Arcadia Aviation this afternoon said it has signed a binding letter of intent to acquire certain assets and operations of Wayfarer Aviation, which was set to shut down last Friday. However, Arcadia provided bridge financing to allow uninterrupted continuation of Wayfarer’s services in advance of the signing of the purchase agreement. The deal announced today is subject to the execution of a definitive asset purchase agreement by both parties.

According to TraqPak data released yesterday by aviation specialized services firm Argus, business aircraft flight activity climbed 7.9 percent last month versus a year ago. While this is more than the 4.8 percent year-over-year rise in April, the industry as a whole has not seen the double-digit increases in the first half of this year that several analysts predicted late last year.
