In its aerospace forecast released on Tuesday, the FAA predicts that the active general aviation fleet will increase by an average 1.3 percent annually, growing from an estimated 225,007 aircraft last year to 286,500 by 2025.

Cessna Citation modifier Sierra Industries is expanding its product line by offering extended-range upgrades for the Citation I, II and S-II. The Uvalde, Texas company recently introduced for these older Citations a new aft fuel tank modification that adds 120 gallons of fuel capacity, extending range by as much as 400 nm.
A DOT Inspector General report on National Airspace System usage does not support AOPA’s and NBAA’s arguments that general aviation operators are only marginal airspace users. It did, however, support the groups’ claims that GA operators typically avoid using airline hub airports.
Speaking yesterday at the fractional provider’s Port Columbus (Ohio) Airport operations center, NetJets CEO Richard Santulli ended months of speculation by announcing that the company will be staying put in the Buckeye State. Despite fierce competition from cities such as Raleigh, N.C.; Orlando, Fla.; and Fort Worth, Texas, in the end NetJets decided to expand its existing facility in Columbus rather than relocate.
