Light aircraft fractional provider OurPlane last week took delivery of the first Eclipse 500 that will be operated under Part 91K fractional aircraft ownership rules. The very light jet, Eclipse 500 S/N 066, is based at SheltAir at Jacksonville International Airport for a corporate customer. According to OurPlane, this event marks the launch of the company’s nationwide fractional VLJ aircraft service.

Brazilian officials are still combing through the wreckage of a Learjet 35 that crashed Sunday in São Paulo, killing at least eight people. Witnesses said the airplane, owned by São Paulo-based air-taxi operator Reali Taxi Aerea, was attempting to return to Campo do Marte Airport just after takeoff in light rain, when it slammed nose first into a suburban neighborhood.
Hawker Beechcraft has hired Harris Williams to shop seven of its U.S. fuel and line operations–a move not unexpected after the company announced late last month that it was selling its aircraft and charter management division to Sentient Flight Group.
