Beechcraft is nearing the sale of its Hawker 4000 and Premier I/IA assets, a step agreed to earlier this year as part of the Wichita OEM’s emergence from bankruptcy. The sale includes items such as type certificates, parts and tooling, as well as the composite manufacturing facility in Wichita known as Plant III. A Beechcraft spokeswoman said potential buyers are currently performing due diligence, and CEO Bill Boisture told AIN that he is “confident” the deal will happen by year-end.

Quest Aircraft delivered the 100th Kodiak turboprop single during a ceremony today at its Sandpoint, Idaho factory, a milestone that comes less than six years after the first Kodiak was handed over to a customer in January 2008. Sunstate Aviation, a Part 91 operator based in Phoenix, took delivery of the centennial aircraft.

Membership-based private aviation start-up Wheels Up unveiled the exterior livery for its planned fleet of Beechcraft King Air 350i turboprops. France’s Happy Design Studio devised the blue-and-white paint scheme for the New York-based company in just 15 days. Wheels Up placed firm orders and options on 105 King Air 350is last month and expects deliveries to begin next month.

As Jet Aviation Basel prepares to perform private Boeing 787 completions, the company sent a team of maintenance technicians from the completions center to receive EASA Part 66 B1/B2 type training on the all-composite jetliner at Boeing’s facilities in Seattle. Jet Aviation engineers have already completed an advanced 787 structural repairs training course provided by Boeing.

Flight planning and support group Hadid International Services has expanded its network in Africa with the appointment of supervisors in Ethiopia, Djibouti and Congo. In addition to providing handling supervision and arranging payment for airport fees, the Dubai-based company’s local staff can arrange ground transportation and hotels.

Eurocopter obtained the first license in Europe permitting localizer-performance with vertical guidance (LPV) approaches on a helipad, at its development and production facility in Donauwörth, Germany. The helicopter manufacturer emphasized that such a procedure improves safety in poor visibility, since aircraft can overfly obstacles more safely.

Staunch general aviation advocate and House GA Caucus co-chair Rep. Sam Graves (R-Mo.) will be a keynote speaker at the October 22 opening general session of the 2013 NBAA Convention in Las Vegas. The House GA Caucus surpassed 200 members earlier this year, demonstrating the breadth of industry support among lawmakers on Capitol Hill. Other leaders from government and the private sector will join Graves at the opening session, including FAA Administrator Michael Huerta and former U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow.

St. Louis-based Avmats Parts Support said it has become the first company to part out an airworthy Gulfstream V. The company recently acquired the twinjet–S/N 647, a 2001 model–“for the sole purpose of improving parts availability and reducing the cost of proprietary items.” With this move, the company said it has widened the rotable pool and gives the market a “desperately needed” new source for serviceable used GV parts.

Helicopter operator Bristow has inked several multi-year contracts with offshore oil and gas companies. The deals involve 12 large and three medium helicopters and are expected to generate up to $850 million in revenue. Operations will take place in Europe, Australia, the Gulf of Mexico, Nigeria, Tanzania and Mozambique. Six of the 12 large helicopters are new Sikorsky S-92s.
