Flight Options pilots are using the NBAA Convention to let the fractional provider’s customers know that the pilot group is only marginally closer to having a negotiated contract nearly a year and a half after voting for a union. The fractional provider’s more than 600 line pilots are represented by International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 1108, the same group that represents NetJets’ pilots.

Aviation interests on Capitol Hill don’t come to a stop just because the NBAA Convention is being held. Yesterday, the House transportation and infrastructure subcommittee on aviation held a hearing on airline delays and consumer issues, and NBAA was there.
Solid progress in the fight against user fees has been made, but the general aviation community has to stay involved for the battle to be won, according to leaders of the fight who took the dais at the User Fee Forum at NBAA 2007 yesterday. “We’re in terminal airspace but there’s convective weather ahead,” said NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen, likening the effort to a long-distance flight.
Cessna Aircraft chairman, president and CEO Jack Pelton said his company is internally moving on the Large Cabin Concept airplane as if it’s a “go program,” meaning Cessna is spending real money on the design and has begun vendor selection for the company’s largest business jet to date. “Had the show been later in the year, we definitely would have launched the Large Cabin Concept [LCC] airplane here at the NBAA Convention,” he told AIN.
Attendance at the 60th NBAA Convention, held this week in Atlanta, as of yesterday afternoon was 31,343 people–a close second to the previous record. However, the number of exhibitors did set a new high, with 1,152 companies showing their business aviation products and services at the Georgia World Congress Center. There were 1,140 exhibitors at last year's show, which was held in Orlando, Fla.
