A supplemental type certificate (STC) has been approved for Rockwell Collins to provide localizer performance with vertical guidance (LPV) upgrades for the King Air C90GTi, B200, B200GT, B200C, B200CGT, 350 and 350C. According to a Rockwell Collins spokesman, the company has worked closely with Hawker Beechcraft to develop and certify the coupled LPV solution, which includes an upgrade to a Rockwell Collins GPS-4000S.

Republic Airport Farmingdale, N.Y.-based Talon Air, an aircraft management and charter operator, has expanded its services after receiving FAA certification of its FAR Part 145 repair station. The MRO offers Talon’s previously in-house maintenance services to the public. The new facility will focus on repairs, inspections and avionics installations for all classes of aircraft.
MTU Aero Engines held a “last bolt” ceremony to mark a major milestone in the development of Pratt & Whitney’s PurePower PW1524G geared turbofan engine slated to be used on Bombardier C Series. The company developed the engine’s turbine, which will now be sent to Pratt & Whitney to be installed on the first PurePower PW1524G engine. The engine will then begin testing procedures.
GE Canada has announced that its GE Aviation business is planning to invest $63.5 million over the next six years to diversify its product line at the GE Aviation manufacturing plant in Bromont, Québec. The company is also receiving financial assistance of up to $13.3 million from the Strategic Support for Investment managed by Investissement Québec.
