In times of heightened security, aircraft locks can be problematic. “The standard locks on many aircraft are surprisingly easy to open with only a similarly shaped key. Most operators want something more secure,” said Jim Jetton, president of Aircraft Security & Alert Systems, manufacturer of a line of custom-designed Medeco locks for aircraft.
Piaggio Aero has appointed Waterford, Mich.-based Pentastar Aviation a non-exclusive authorized service center. The agreement allows the MRO to provide maintenance services and support for the Piaggio Avanti II. The company, which also has a Van Nuys, Calif. operation, will act as a Piaggio Aero sales center in the upper Midwest.
Six of ExecuJet Aviation Group’s MROs have been designated Hawker Beechcraft (HBC) authorized service centers. They include ExecuJet Aviation facilities in Lanseria and Cape Town, South Africa; Dubai, UAE; Melbourne and Sydney, Australia; and Lagos, Nigeria. A spokesman for ExecuJet, which has a total of eight maintenance facilities worldwide, said the other locations will be considered based on demand.
Aviation maintenance management software developer Mxi Technologies is opening an office in Hong Kong and has named Witono Lukman as managing director. The company cites a growing demand for its Maintenix software throughout the Asia-Pacific region as the reason behind its decision to open the new office.
