LoPresti Aviation Engineering is poised to introduce a new type of tire called the Never Flat. The tire features a composite band embedded inside the carcass before the tread is put on. “Technically it isn’t airless as we do inflate it to between 10 and 12 psi; however, that is just to give it a smooth ride.
Embraer has named West Star Aviation’s East Alton, Ill. facility an authorized service Center for the Phenom 100 and 300; the MRO’s St. Louis (SUS) facility is also included in the appointment. The company has a history with Embraer that dates back to the Phenom 100’s launch.
Hawker Beechcraft (HBC) has opened a new regional headquarters office in Beijing to cover the North Asia region, including mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Korea and Japan. According to the company it has also added local employees and strengthened its sales and marketing network in the region. The office will support all HBC operations, including maintenance.
Scott Beale, former president, founder and co-owner of FlightWorks, has acquired Waterford, Mich.-based Aerodynamics (ADI) and its subsidiary ADI Shuttle Group. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. ADI, which is located on Oakland County International Airport, is a flight and maintenance repair firm that operates under Parts 121, 125, 135 and 145.
