Senior vice president Gary Driggers is retiring from Midcoast Aviation, effective December 31. During his 22-year tenure as a member of the company’s senior management team–longer than anyone else in Midcoast's history–Driggers saw the company grow from 100 to 1,500 employees. He is currently responsible for managing key customer and vendor relationships and is the company’s face to industry organizations and OEMs.

Jet Aviation has signed a service center agreement with Jet Support Services (JSSI) to provide scheduled and unscheduled maintenance services and to supply parts to JSSI and its clients. Terms of the agreement call for Jet Aviation to provide aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul services at its Basel, Geneva, Zurich, Dusseldorf, London Biggin Hill, Dubai and Singapore locations to JSSI and its customers.

The FAA has awarded repair station status to Munich, Germany-based 328 Support Services for the Dornier 328 jet and turboprop in recognition of its executive conversion work, primarily in Europe so far. The company is working on its first executive 328 destined for a U.S. customer, Aviando Services of Miami.

West Star Aviation has expanded its maintenance service business into the southeast U.S. with the addition of West Star Aviation Columbia, S.C. (CAE). The new facility will offer airframe, engine and avionics services for business aircraft beginning in next year’s first quarter. Initially, West Star Aviation will offer services for turbine aircraft with a maximum takeoff weight of less than 12,500 pounds.

Effective January 1 Savannah Air Center will be named Midcoast Aviation. In the U.S., Midcoast Aviation will now operate two completions and maintenance centers (St. Louis and Savannah). In an effort to strengthen its completions, modification and maintenance services in North America, Jet Aviation acquired Midcoast Aviation in 2006 and, in 2008, Savannah Air Center.
