Asset Insight has introduced a system that it claims accurately evaluates an aircraft’s maintenance condition for objectively comparing any aircraft, regardless of make and model. The Asset Grading System Process provides a simple-to-understand, uniform index for evaluating and comparing the technical condition of different aircraft.

Australian-owned C&L Aerospace has found a niche providing parts and service for the regional aircraft industry but it is now expanding its base. According to CEO Chris Kilgour, “We’re offering more services at our location in Bangor, Maine, moving into additional existing hangar space and building a new paint hangar. We’ve also purchased a pool of GE engines we lease out, are leasing out aircraft, and we’ve acquired aircraft from Pinnacle Airlines that we’re marketing to the industry,” he said.
The Jet Business, a company aimed at assisting clients in the acquisition of new or pre-owned business aircraft, has added an iPad app to help customers visualize the look of their aircraft.
“Since opening The Jet Business, we’ve been constantly confronted by the client’s frustration at being unable to visualize an aircraft with their personal look,” Steve Varsano, founder of The Jet Business, told AIN. The solution was to offer the free app, which extends The Jet Business’s objective of easing the selection and buying process.

Hawthorne Global Aviation Services/ExcelAire has been selected as an authorized Honeywell avionics dealer, providing installation, sales and service for a range of Honeywell avionics products at its FBO and Part 145 repair station located at Long Island MacArthur Airport in Islip, NY. The authorization allows the company to offer a range of avionics installation and maintenance services. As part of the authorization, the Hawthorne team will receive specialized Honeywell avionics training.

(The company recently appointed Soloy Aviation Solutions to serve the U.S. market.)Hawker Pacific will focus on the Asian region and will exclusively support GippsAero’s existing and new clients across Asian countries. Gipps has appointed Piper Parts to support all countries throughout Europe, and Airvan Africa to cover all of Africa.
Component Control announced Turbopower, an MRO servicing PT6A/T and T56/501D engines, has selected Quantum Control to manage its MRO and part sales services. Turbopower serves the world’s military operations, regional airlines, business aviation, charter/air taxi, emergency medical services and utility freight providers through its testing and support headquarters in Miami Lakes, Fla.
MCM Maintenance Centre Malta received an aircraft maintenance organization approval from the Department of Civil Aviation of Bermuda. It allows scheduled line maintenance in Malta, Nigeria and Hong Kong on Bermuda-registered aircraft, including Learjets, Challengers and Globals, Citations, Dorniers and Gulfstreams. “We have selected the Bermuda approval due to high demand in Europe, Africa and Asia,” said Nick Ebenhoeh, head of marketing.
