Evergreen Maintenance Center (EMC) has announced the appointment of Hal Heule as chief executive officer; he will oversee all EMC operations. Heule brings more than 40 years of aircraft maintenance experience to EMC.

The FAA has issued a final rule on an airworthiness directive for the Eurocopter EC 120B. It requires modifying the pilot cyclic control friction device by replacing a specified thrust washer with two thrust washers.
Banyan Air Service of Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport has added the Learjet 40 series airframe to its list of capabilities. The MRO has also added a second shift and nine additional techs.
Hamilton Sundstrand, a supplier in the Boeing 787 Dreamliner program, and Lufthansa Technik have signed a long-term contract calling for the German maintenance facility to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services on Hamilton Sundstrand’s components for the Boeing 787. The agreement also designates Lufthansa Technik as an official member of Hamilton Sundstrand’s Boeing 787 MRO supplier network.
Ruag Aviation has announced it has obtained the EASA certification for maintenance on the Cessna Citation CJ4. As an authorized Cessna Service Center, Ruag’s Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany site has received Part 145 authorization for base and line maintenance on the CJ4.
Duncan Aviation has developed a new roll-around Hawker landing gear system that allows the aircraft to be moved while the actual landing gear is removed for overhaul. “The roll-around gear works best in a multi-shop event where paint is tied in with airframe maintenance and gear overhaul,” Dan Fuoco, Duncan’s Hawker airframe service sales rep, told AIN.
StandardAero Business Aviation is now offering Pratt & Whitney PW305 service at its Houston facility in support of the Learjet 60 and Hawker 1000. The MRO’s Springfield, Ill. facility was the first site to begin supporting the PW300-series.

The National Research Council of Canada (NRC) and Bombardier Aerospace have signed a multiyear agreement building upon a 2010 Memorandum of Understanding. The agreement, which covers research, development and testing in areas of interest to both organizations, details both fee-for-service and collaborative research projects.
