Tool manufacturer and distributor Snap-on Industrial has introduced the ATC 5 tool-control system, which combines software, a keyless entry system, foam-cut toolbox drawer liners and digital image capture devices inside the toolbox to help users keep track of tools. ATC 5 users first scan a proximity card on the keyless entry system to log in and open the toolbox.

Dallas-based AAT Aircraft Maintenance has been certified as an FAA-approved Part 145 repair station. The certification allows the MRO to perform light to heavy maintenance and major repairs and modifications on the Gulfstream II/IIB/II-SP/III/IV and Hawker 700/800/800XP. "Certification allows us to serve aircraft owners and operators throughout the region," said Brian Allen, one of three partners of AAT.
Chromalloy is offering a new thermal barrier coating it claims enhances the performance of gas turbine engines. "The RT-35 Low K coating provides lower thermal conductivity, which allows higher engine temperatures. Engines produce greater thrust when operating at higher temperatures and they can operate on the same amount of fuel as powerplants that operate at lower temperatures," said Dr.
Embraer and EgyptAir Maintenance & Engineering have signed a five-year agreement designating the MRO an authorized service center for the Embraer E170/190 series. The Cairo-based carrier was already an established Embraer flight-hour pool program customer. Under the terms of the agreement the MRO will provide routine checks and scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for EgyptAir Express and third-party E-Jets.
