VisionSafe has entered into an agreement with Banyan Air Service naming the MRO an emergency vision assurance system (EVAS) sales and service center for the Southeast U.S. EVAS is an FAA tested and certified system available for all turboprop and jet aircraft that displaces smoke, enabling pilots to see the flight path and instruments during an emergency.
ExecuJet Africa is expanding its maintenance offering after being appointed an authorized installation center by Aviation Partners. The authorization enables ExecuJet to offer winglet upgrades for Falcon 50/ 900/2000s in Africa. The expansion of ExecuJet Africa’s upgrade and maintenance capabilities follows the extension of the company’s service agreement with Blackhawk and appointment as an approved agent for Garmin last September.
Cleveland Hopkins International Airport-based Constant Aviation has been named a top-10 dealer for Aircell products. The MRO surpassed $1.5 million in sales with Aircell for 2012.
Eight StandardAero aircraft paint technicians have completed the Embry-Riddle Aeronautics University/Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) program in aircraft painting. The six-week program confers a license in Aerospace Coatings Application (ACA) to those paint technicians who complete the course and pass an examination administered by an SSPC proctor.
StandardAero is the first MRO to implement the ACA program into its paint operations.
Bell Helicopter Asia, Bell’s maintenance service facility in Singapore, received Part 145 approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore. This certification allows the company to repair, complete, maintain and customize Bell helicopters in Asia. The 165,000-sq-ft facility opened its doors six months ago in partnership with sister company Cessna Aircraft.
328 Group acquired the UK Biggin Hill Maintenance Service Centre formerly owned by Jet Aviation. The new company will be named Jets (Biggin Hill). The acquisition brings new aircraft maintenance capabilities to the 328 Group with the Falcon 900, 2000, 7X; and Cessna Citation 525, 550 and 560. The existing offering consists of Bombardier Challenger 300, 601, 604, 605; Learjet 45; Dornier 328; Hawker 125 series 700, 800, 800XP, 850XP, 900XP, 950XP, 1000.
Ontic has signed an agreement with Zodiac Oxygen Systems for the acquisition of legacy product lines that include tailwheel assemblies, brake valves, temperature and pressure gauges and first-aid kits. The products are used primarily on general aviation legacy aircraft built by Cessna, Air Tractor, Piper, Hawker Beechcraft, Dassault and others. The first-aid kits support commercial and general aviation aircraft with capacity for five to more than 25 passengers. Ontic will support the products from its Chatsworth, Calif. facility.
Gulfstream Aerospace has named Brian Schank head of the East Coast sales team and Darwin Stout head of the West Coast team. Schank, a 24-year Gulfstream veteran, was most recently director for business and program support, product support sales. Stout, who is in his 17th year with Gulfstream, was most recently a West Coast-based national sales manager for product support sales. He has also been a Southwest-based regional sales manager.
Signature Flight Support has promoted Maria Sastre to president. She retains her position as COO. In her new role, Sastre is responsible for the daily operations of Signature’s international network of fixed-base operations and maintenance centers. Her focus as Signature’s COO has been on the development of a service and safety culture. Under her leadership, customer satisfaction ratings have increased significantly over the past three years, Signature has increased its footprint to 115 locations and invested in updating facilities and infrastructure.
